Join Us in Learning How to Protect Ontario and Tackle Invasive Species Together
Invasive species are a growing threat to Ontario’s environment and economy. Defined as plants, animals, and microorganisms introduced by human actions beyond their natural distribution, these species endanger ecosystems, economies, and human health.
To combat this, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), launched the Invading Species Awareness Program (ISAP) in 1992. The program’s goals are to educate the public about aquatic and terrestrial invasive species, address the pathways of their introduction and spread, and monitor new invaders within Ontario. The ISAP is a key educational and conservation initiative by the OFAH.
