Most know that hunting was historically important to the pre-settlement and formation of Ontario. Lesser known, is that it is still critical to environmental management in Ontario and practiced by over 600,000 licenced hunters.
How did Eastern Wild Turkey and Elk return to Ontario? Where do moose live? How do Snowshoe Hare and Lynx populations interact?
Our resources focus on the wildlife management and habitat, biology, and sustainability aspects of hunting while providing an opportunity for teachers to explore real-life population dynamic scenarios at the secondary level.
We have made these resources as easy to use as possible – regardless of your background knowledge of hunting. You may use them in any manner that you choose for your class. Do all activities or just one. In order or not. Adapt them to suit your needs. And have fun!
